After been hacked multiple times on my old 1.5 Joomla website I decided to spend some money on Joomla firewall. I chose RSFirewall since it's easy to use and have the best ratings. Hope no security breaches any more.

P.S. If your site gets hacked contact your web hosting provider - they can find and remove hacked files. Change passwords for login and ftp account.

Also if google finds malware on your website it will send you a malware notification. After you remove malware (I did couple of times by just contacting my host provider) submit your site for review with Google.


Request a malware review:
  1. On the Webmaster Tools Home page, select the site you want.
  2. Click Health, and then click Malware.
  3. Click Request a review.

I am using Jira next-gen for my project and I created a backlog (roadmap) and the board. My developers found it is time-consuming to go thru each of the items, click on the issue, comment then click on another one.. They wanted to see all of them in the file. Apparently it is not very straightforward and I wish Jira developers simplified it by making an Export button at the top of the right corner. Here is how to do it.  When you are in the Next-Gen Project go to Filters - Advanced Issue Search Add caption Then filter for what you would like to export and then in the upper right corner click on Export button and choose what format you would like.

Adding comments to Joomla JoomFish articles with jComments

I found a nice comments plugin with supports JoomFish in several languages - JComments website I have website with Russian and English languages http://www.duotales.com/  with Joomfish. So I downloaded the JComments plugin. Quick installation and configuration tips: Installation: - Download JComments plugin from their website . - Login to Joomla front end. Go to Extensions - Install/Uninstall. - Install plugin. Configuration: - Login to Joomla front end. Go to Components - JComments - Go into settings. There in the "JoomFish langugage" menu you can choose settings for particular language. Just choose one language - configure settings for it. Save. Then choose another language and configure setting for that. - JComments will now print separate comments for each language. .

How to fix error: You must upload a .wie file generated by this plugin.

I bought a theme with a demo widgets in .WIE file format. I got  Widget Importer & Exporter plugin in order to do that. But when I tried to upload a file it gave me an error: You must upload a .wie file generated by this plugin. I did research and found out that sometime MIME check prevents uploads and a workaround to disable it. I used Disable Real MIME Check plugin. This plugin is a workaround that disables the recently introduced strict MIME check to restore the upload functionality. And it worked like a charm.
